2) When the children place Shey in the barrel, she finally ends up in this river, escaping just as the barrel floods with water and sinks to the bottom. It's as she rises to the surface that she has the vision of her father in Egypt being given the magical turquoise necklace.
3) This is the giant barrel that Shey was thrust into. It was once filled with alcohol (Ale perhaps) and when the lid was placed on it, the fumes seeping from the wood, sent Shey lightheaded. With great effort, she managed to save herself just as the barrel sank into the deep water.
