The title of this painting is Children's Games and it was painted by Pieter Bruegel in 1559-1560. It's painted in oils on wood. There are about 83 recognisable games being played. A few are still popular today. You can see below how I used some parts of the painting in my story, The Mystery Of The Ruby Glasses.

1) This peeping face belongs to the girl who confronts Shey when she finds herself in the Children's Games painting. When Shey and Ruben find themselves trapped in the painted land, this girl throws the key from the window, allowing them to escape the painting and the dragon.
